COMMUNITY UPDATE: 2026–2027 Budget Approval & New Board Announcement
Thank you to everyone who attended our recent annual community meeting and participated in shaping the future of our neighborhood. Your engagement is what keeps our community strong, safe, and vibrant.
We are writing to share two major updates regarding our neighborhood's leadership and financial planning for the upcoming fiscal year.
1. Approval of the Fiscal Year 2026–2027 Annual Budget
Following a community review and vote, the proposed budget for the fiscal year running from July 1, 2026, to June 30, 2027, has been officially approved.
A full line-item copy of the approved budget is available upon request by contacting the board@forestparks280.com.
2. Welcome Your New HOA Leadership Team
Please join us in welcoming our newly elected HOA Officers and Board Members! These residents have volunteered their time, energy, and expertise to manage our community’s operations and advocate for our collective interests over the coming year:
HOA Officers:
President: Kim Brown
Vice President: Jarrad Cofield
Secretary: Mario Hernandez
Treasurer: Lisa Eddy
HOA Board Members:
Eric Eddy
Diana Feller
We want to extend a sincere thank you to all outgoing team members for their hard work and dedicated service to our neighborhood.
3. Looking Ahead: Rezone Proposal & Developer Update
As a major point of discussion during our annual meeting, the developers were in attendance to present their vision and answer questions directly from residents.
While our collective preference would be for the property to remain undeveloped, it has been on the market for over 20 years. The general consensus among residents at the meeting was that if the land must be developed, this specific plan is much closer to what we want to see. The proposed lots and homes match the existing character of our neighborhood—a stark contrast to the previous developer who attempted to squeeze 100 lots into the space.
The feedback from the meeting showed a split community response, with roughly two-thirds of attending residents in favor of the current plan and one-third opposed or undecided due to ongoing concerns.
Binding Guidelines & Enforceability:
To protect our neighborhood's infrastructure and the properties directly bordering the site, the final plans submitted by the developer to the city will include guidelines discussed at our meeting (including no blasting due to heavy rock formations, and a 30-foot wooded buffer zone between the new development and existing homes).
The Voting Process & Current Status:
The approval process is moving through municipal channels as follows:
The Planning Commission Vote (Completed): The Planning Commission has held their meeting and has officially recommended the rezone of the property.
City Council Agenda & Final Vote (Next Step): Next, the proposal moves to the City Council. They will add this item to their upcoming agenda for a final, deciding vote.
We will keep the community closely updated as the final City Council meeting date is formalized on the city calendar so that residents can continue to attend and make their voices heard. The agenda for the next meeting will be posted June 2nd 2026 for the June 16th meeting. We anticipate this will be on the agenda.
Thank you for your continued support and collaboration. If you have any questions, maintenance requests, or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Warm regards,
Kim Brown
